Katie Van Dorsten is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA, License #A16655) in North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor (NCC, Certification #1587554). She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art History from Wake Forest University.

Her clinical experience includes work at the Nicholas A. Vacc Counseling Center and the High Point University Office of Counseling Services, where she provided individual and group counseling. Following graduation, she continued at High Point University as a Prevention Specialist and Clinical Counselor, offering mental health and substance use counseling, as well as coordinating wellness programs and educational initiatives.

Katie utilizes an integrative approach drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She is also trained in Brainspotting, a technique that helps clients process trauma. Her primary areas of focus include anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-acceptance, relationships, trauma, life transitions, substance use, grief, and mindfulness.

She is committed to providing a trauma-informed, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore personal growth and well-being.
